The Reception Test: Make Sure Transfer SMS Arrive Before You Go Live

The worst way to discover a broken phone setup is a customer who paid and is still waiting. Daffaa's Start reception test button lets you run a transfer SMS reception test yourself before you share your payment link.

When to run the reception test

• On first setup, after linking the phone and adding the line.
• After changing the collection phone (see managing devices).
• After changing a SIM or moving it to another slot.
• After phone or app updates, and before busy seasons.

Where to find it

Open Connect Phone from your store menu, or iPhone Setup from the Lines page, and find the Test reception section. Despite the page name, the test watches any message reaching your store, whether from the Android app or an iPhone Shortcut.

How it works

1. Make sure the device shows Online (set up via the Android app guide).
2. Tap Start. You'll see "Waiting for your transfer…" and a 90-second countdown.
3. Have someone send a small transfer, e.g. EGP 10, to the line. Start the test first, then transfer.
4. The page checks every few seconds and only counts messages that arrive after you tapped Start.

Reading the result

On success you'll see "Received! Your setup is working." with the source, amount and sender, plus buttons to open Transactions or test again. If a message arrived without an amount, check its text on the Messages page (guide). If time runs out, check: did the SMS reach the phone, are SMS permissions granted, is there a line for that SIM with the right slot, is battery optimization off (guide), and on iPhone, are the token, request URL and the fields token, sender, message exactly as shown, and did the automation actually run (troubleshooting). Then try again.

Example: two lines

New phone with a Vodafone Cash SIM and an InstaPay SIM: confirm the device is online, confirm both lines point to the new device and correct slots, then test EGP 10 on each line separately. If only one fails, the problem is that line, not the whole app.

After it passes
